Welcome to  Epsom Rural

I'm Harry Epsom. I founded this consultancy to support farmers, landowners, and rural entrepreneurs in discovering and maximising the value of their property and business.
Our mission is to provide expert advice and holistic solutions to the challenges that you are facing, focusing on building resilience.
We have a special focus on regenerative practices as we believe in the power of regeneration - not only to enrich our soil and environments but also to support the growth and prosperity of the communities and people connected to the land.
At Epsom Rural, we believe in building long-term resilience for our clients through regenerative agriculture practices. The soil, like any living system, cannot remain stagnant. If it’s not regenerating, it’s deteriorating, and that impacts not only your farm’s productivity but the environment and future generations as well.

Our approach centers on working with the natural processes of your land to create solutions that are both economically viable and ecologically sound. By helping you implement the following core principles of regenerative agriculture, we work together to ensure your farm's soil, biodiversity, and business resilience are always improving:

Understanding your context

No two farms are the same. We start by understanding your land’s unique climate, geography, and business goals. Our regenerative practices are tailored to your specific context, ensuring we work with nature, not against it.

Reducing disturbances to soil

We guide you in adopting techniques that reduce physical disruption to your soil, like low-till or no-till farming. Minimizing disturbance preserves soil structure, improves water retention, and encourages a healthy ecosystem beneath your crops.

Promoting biodiversity

Diverse planting isn’t just good for the environment; it’s essential for long-term farm resilience. We’ll help you increase plant and livestock diversity, which enhances soil fertility and creates more sustainable, diversified income streams.

Keeping soil covered

Bare soil loses its fertility and becomes vulnerable to erosion. We work with you to maintain year-round soil cover through cover crops, grazing, or organic matter, protecting the land and keeping it productive.

Maintaining living roots

Living roots in the ground ensure soil biology remains active and healthy. Our strategies keep roots in place as much as possible, which improves carbon sequestration, nutrient cycling, and the overall health of your soil.

Incorporating livestock where possible

Livestock play a crucial role in nutrient cycling and maintaining healthy soils. We’ll help you incorporate livestock in ways that enhance soil health without overgrazing, mimicking the natural processes that have sustained ecosystems for millennia.
So, let's work together to implement these principles. Regeneration is not just about the soil—it’s about ensuring the long-term success and resilience of your entire farm business.
